And we are playing with Cake! Fuck Yeah!
Dear Everyone,
My computer is fucked. My conversation with the apple store genius today went like this:
Genius: Ok, this is a hard disk failure. You are going to lose all of your data. Have you come to grips with that?
Me: Not quite yet.
Genius: Did you have ANY of your data backed up?
Me: Nothing important
Long story short, this may make updates and stuff happen a little less often for thetime being. Hopefully it won’t effect the record release or the bookingg of our next tour too severely.
Anyway … we played an OxFAM benefit at Ruta Maya World HQ on Friday night and it was probably one of our funnest shows ever. We played with Conrad Keely (who was super-nice) and met his mother (who was even nicer). The guys from And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead were there and loved the show, and said they wanted to play together. Time will tell if that pans out.
This guy was there and took some photos of the show for the Accent Newspaper:

From the looks of it, I must have played the entire show with my eyes closed ![]()
More critical praise in today’s music for robots:
They were one of the first to receive the EP and had some flattering shit to say about us. They have a great blog, so check it:

Lets hope everybody else enjoys the record as much as they did!
Until last night I had never set foot in Austin’s Beauty Bar, and based on what I had heard of the place I wasn’t particularly in a hurry to do so. We ended up playing a great show, however, to a receptive audience. Here are some pics of the show (taken by Laura Torres). Click “more” below to see more pictures (duh). Notice Dave’s Speedo and my attempt to dress like one of the Davies brothers:
Hey friends and fans. Long time no talky. Here is what we have been up to …
RADIO SESSION:::

We recorded an hour long live radio session last Thursday for KRTU’s Noctorunal Transmissions radio show in San Antonio, TX. Though, the mix came out a little crazy, it contains lots of new songs and interview clips of us saying some really dumb shit. I figure some of you super-fans may wanna hear it:
CLICK HERE (Unmastered, uncut radio session … I will leave this up as long as bandwidth permits)
Here are a few pics from the session:
NEW ALBUM / NEW TEAM:::
As previously mentioned Roar is finished and the official national release date is APRIL 1, 2008. It will be available on our website and on iTunes shortly, but for now pre-order your copy from Amazon.com.
Andreas from Unterm Durschnitt International in Cologne Germany got his copy and sent me these pics:
We also have to mention three new members to our team. Nina from Apples and Cats Media will be doing our radio promotion. Ian from Vitriol Public Relations is our new publicist, and Chris from The Solution Agency will be helping us get some kick ass tour dates.
PIZZA PARTY:::
I will close with this. I ordered a pizza last night from Valentinos Pizza here in San Marcos, and Deiter from the Falcon Buddies took my order and gave me a little dedication on the box:
I came home from a trip out of town today to find our new record sitting in my mailbox. Matt, the surprise truck label-master, priority mailed a box as soon as he got them back from the manufacturer, and they look fucking insanely, awesomely fantastic. This is definitely the coolest looking packaging for any of our records (in my opinion).
a (blurry) sneak-peak at the disc itself …
and lets not forget the shirts …
a whole box of shirts! (yes, that is brokeback mountain next to my foot)
buttons, for all you punx …
stickers, for make benefit glorious vandalism …
I will be posting details on how you can get your hands on this stuff soon!
Last November we played cover show at the Red Scoot Inn in East Austin (we played songs by Nirvana, GBV, and Tommy James). Anyway, at the show we met this guy named Travis that was just starting this new studio, The Diamond Factory.
I guess he liked our music and he invited us to come record a free song at some point. Well yesterday we took him up on it and recorded our newest song (yet unnamed).
We were asked to submit a song for the Almost There Records Turns 4 Compilation this April, so if the track turns out well (and it probably will) it will get released there.
Here are a couple of random pics from the session:
Dave getting sweaty chest hair all over my guitar

Since I was the one taking the pictures, this is the closest thing to a picture of me.

And here is a nonsensical little video of Kyle and Dave doing elvish backing vocals:
We will post a recording of the song when it is all mixed and mastered and stuff!
